One History
A cheerful sharing that opens the heart and the mind, to an undisguised pleasure: the BUKACZEWSKI-COLLET Champagne.
The Pioneers' boldness
1950
Robert COLLET, a young moulder in a Reims foundry, made an audacius bet. Developing the culture of champagne in Cernay-lès-Reims and its surroundings. In this post-war context, everything has to be rebuilt and fortune smiles on those who are bold enough to dare to believe in their dreams. A range of possibilities where Robert intends to express all his ambition.
Robert COLLET materializes his unwavering faith in the future in a champagne embodying the spirit of freedom of a new epoch. The representation of a collective euphoria where life must be celebrated at every moment: music all around, flutes which collide and dance steps which intertwine.
Robert can be proud of what he has achieved. If his legacy lives on today, it is thanks to his grandson Rodolphe BUKACZEWSI-COLLET who keeps the name alive. Son of a diligent winegrower, Rodolphe holds this ineluctable attraction, transmitted and cultivated, towards grapes and their transformation. Reasoned, he wanted to produce a pure, fresh, obvious champagne. A festive, fine, dancing creation; respectful of the past, open to the future, revealing of the present moment … A playful sharing that opens the heart and mind, to an undisguised pleasure: Champagne BUKACZEWSKI-COLLET.

« His Life, His Vineyard »
This could have been the motto of Rodolphe’s grandfather, a landlord viscerally attached to his land. Avant-garde and visionary, this hard worker lived only for his vineyard. A winning wager to transform this inspired intuition into personal success, by dint of courage, will and pugnacity.
From his grandfather Robert, Rodolphe inherited his strength of character. Meticulous and perfectionist, he only aims for excellence. As demanding of himself as of others, this true enthusiast spend countless hours on his work in the vines.

Harvest
The harvest is manual: an uncompromising sorting is carried out, the grapes will only be picked if their quality allows it.
By noticing that better fruits grow on a natural and neat crop, the winemaker, aware of his difference, claims this environmental ethic. These guidelines apply to himself as well as to the team.
In 2006, Rodolphe decides to start using this father’s plow again and works the soil on one or two plots without weekillers. Its approach goes beyond the purpose of a quality champagne, it also includes better health and protection of Nature in general.
Trim
Vine-pruning is regulated in order to offer each vine an optimal development. A stage completed with tying, disbudding and trellising, which also aim to aerate the vegetation for healthy, sun-drenched grapes.

Treatments
Each treatment is carried out in a reasoned way: on the lowest possible basis of the Treatment Frequency Index, the applications are modulated according to the growth of the vine, the climate and the parasites pressure. As with a child who is given an appropriate dose of care, different from the one of an adult, each vine is treated according to its own development.
